雀 鳥 市 場
Bird Market
1960 年 代 初 期 ， 鄰 近 旺 角 碼 頭 的 上 海 街 5 9 7 號 奇 香 茶 樓 ， 每 天 早 上 有 不 少 街
坊 攜 帶 雀 籠 來 品 茗 及 交 流 雀 經 ， 稍 後 漸 成 為 油 麻 地 及 旺 角 區 雀 友 集 中 地 ， 吸 引 雀
販 前 來 兜 售 雀 鳥 及 用 品 。
In the early
60's, " "restaurant was like a birds market.
It was located at 597 Shanghai Street and was close to
Mong Kok pier. Every morning, people from the neighborhood
would bring their birds along while enjoying their tea
and exchanging their knowledge. Slowly, it became a gathering
place for Yau Ma Tei's and Mong Kok's bird lovers. It had
also attracted many venders selling birds and a variety
of other products.
由 於 茶 樓 拆 卸 重 建 ， 雀 友 及 雀 販 便 轉 移 陣 地 至 茶 樓 附 近
的 康 樂 街 ， 當 年 的 康 樂 街 是 一 條 「 橫 街 」 ， 很 少 汽 車 來 往 ， 初 期
有 十 多 檔 小 販 在 此 賣 草 蜢 ， 發 展 至 1 9 8 0 年 代 為 全 盛 時 期 ， 共
有 達 八 十 多 間 專 門 販 賣 鳥 籠 、 雀 栗、 草 蜢 及 雀 鳥 的 專 營 商 店 ， 康
樂 街 被 俗 稱 為 「 雀 仔 街 」 ， 成 為 外 國 人 到 香 港 遊 覽 的 著 名 特 色 景
點 。
Due to the closing
of the restaurant, bird lovers and bird sellers moved to
a nearby street, Hong Lok Street. At that time, Hong Lok
Street was a side street where few cars would pass by.
In the beginning, there were less than 20 shops selling
grasshoppers on the street. In the 80's, at the peak of
it's popularity there were more than 80 shops selling bird
cages, bird seeds, grass hoppers and birds. Hong Lok Street
was subsequently renamed as Bird Street and became a popular
tourist attraction in Hong Kong.
由 於 市 區 重 建 計 劃 的 影 響 ， 康 樂 街 附 近 樓 宇 需 要 清 拆 ，
土 地 發 展 公 司 將 「 雀 仔 街 」 遷 往 耗 資 二 千 九 百 萬 元 興 建 的 「 園 圃
街 雀 鳥 花 園 」 ， 在 1 9 9 7 年 1 2 月 1 3 日 開 幕 。 該 花 園 佔 地 三
千 平 方 米 ， 設 有 七 十 個 雀 鳥 檔 位 給 「 雀 仔街 」 的 雀 販 經 營 。
Due to the urban
renewal programme, the surrounding buildings on Hong Lok
Street were torn down. "" moved Bird Street to
Yuen Po Street Bird Garden. It was built at a cost of 29
million dollars and was opened on 13 Dec, 1997. Its 3000
square meter area was able to house 70 booths for Bird
Street's shop owners.

園 圃 街 雀 鳥 花 園 ( 俗 稱 雀 仔 街 ) ， 前 身 位 於 香 港 旺 角 康 樂 街 ， 由 於 素 來 是 雀 鳥
及 雀 鳥 飼 養 用 品 店 的 集 中 地 ， 因 此 被 喚 作 為 雀 仔 街 。 後 來 基 於 1 9 9 7 年 政 府 市
區 重 建 計 劃 ， 雀 仔 街 全 街 商 舖 被 遷 拆 。 政 府 在 園 圃 街 另 建 一 個 雀 鳥 花 園 代 替 ， 把
店 舖 安 置 在 那 兒 。 園 圃 街 雀 鳥 花 園 內 作 中 式 庭 園 設 計 , 有 約 7 0 戶 攤 販 。
Bird Street,
which was once referred to Mong Kok Hong Lok Street, is
now relocated to Yuen Po Strret Bird Garden. The old Bird
Street in Hong Lok Street was put down in 1997 due to the
government’s urban renewal programme. The Hong Kong Government
has built a Bird Garden in Yuen Po Street since and moved
all the old shops to the new garden. Nowadays, there are
more than 70 shops that sell birds and bird-related products
in the Garden.
園 圃 街 雀 鳥 花 園 為 香 港 最 受 歡 迎 的 露 天 購 物 市 場 之 一 四 周 商 廈 林 立 , 也 是 遊 客 必
到 的 好 地 方 。 這 裡 有 各 式 各 樣 的 鳥 類 售 賣 ， 種 類 繁 多 ， 平 貴 皆 有 。 有 些 是 買 來 觀
賞 的 ， 也 有 買 來 放 生 的 ， 甚 至 乎 體 型 龐 大 的 如 鸚 鵡 或 者 身 材 嬌 小 的 如 麻 雀 也 可 買
到 • 而 除 鳥 類 外 ， 更 有 相 關 雀 鳥 之 用 品 出 售 ， 例 如 鳥 籠 、 飼 料 、 飼 食 器 皿 、 鳥 籠
裝 飾 、 鸚 鵡 玩 具 等 ， 亦 是 款 式 齊 備 ， 令 您 目 不 暇 給 。
Bird Street,
or sometimes called Bird Market, is one of the most popular
outdoor markets in Hong Kong. It is located in proximity
to many business and shopping centres and is a very popular
place to tourists. You can find all sorts of birds in the
Bird Streets. Beautiful caged birds, songbirds, birds for
release, large macaw and even tiny sparrow are all can
be found in Bird Street. There is also no shortage of bird-related
products such as cages, bird foods, containers, bird medicine
and toys. Yuen Po street Bird Garden is definitely a great
place for bird lovers to visit, and to share their knowledge
and wisdom.
